Contemporary open ensuite
Love the look of a fully open ensuite? We do too! Here’s a look at one bathroom that gets the layout configuration right.

Earlier this year my partner and I photographed this stunning open ensuite at the home of Sheree Richardson in Brisbane. On the opposite side of this bathroom is the main bedroom with no wall dividing the two spaces. Now, many might shy away from this particular layout, however if you want to get it right there are a few vital things to consider – mainly layout.
In Sheree’s ensuite, the double vanity wall is centred in the space and cleverly conceals the toilet (located behind the wall on the left hand side) and partially covering the double shower (to the right). Having the space open is a great idea for smaller bathrooms as a wall can really encroach into the space and make it feel cramped. Can I also mention it’s a dream to photograph too with no walls as obstacles in the way!
Other details we love include the matching black trim, accessories and tapware creating a consistent colour palette. The two wall hooks strategically placed opposite the shower are also a practical solution for the space.
