Living room styled 3 ways

Changing up a room can be as simple as switching out the rug and a few decorator pieces. Today I’m sharing my living room styled three ways using three different rugs from Carpet Court.

LOOK 1
WARM & EARTHY

For this particular look I’ve gone for a warm, earthy vibe – perfect for autumn and winter. I opted for the ‘Phoenix’ rug in natural from Carpet Court. It’s great because it combines plush wool on one side, and durable jute on the other. I love the little strip of copper colouring on the rug and to complement this, I’ve chosen a check throw and burnt caramel linen cushion. Having this darker rug on the floor really helps to ground and define the living room space.

A brown leather armchair in the corner also helps to bring the whole look together. The living room still has that boho vibe, but with a more masculine edge.

LOOK 2
COASTAL BOHO

For this look I wanted to create a very coastal/boho style. I’ve kept the overall colour palette neutral using plenty of white, caramel tones and natural timbers. To achieve the boho look I’ve used the ‘Saffron’ rug in diamond white from Carpet Court which has a Moroccan-inspired pattern. It’s a synthetic rug which means it won’t shed like a wool one. Plus it’s super soft underfoot and easy to clean.

For the styling I’ve chosen to add in textural elements – like a woven cane armchair in the corner of the room, a sheepskin throw and neutral cushions on the sofa and a timber stump as a side table. Overall this look has a very relaxing and calming feel and can easily transition from Summer through to Winter.

LOOK 3
soft in pink

This look is all about softness and subtle texture. With the introduction of a soft pink armchair in the corner of the room, I’ve layered up on that with other pink accents like in the throw, cushion and book on the coffee table.

To complement the other neutrals in the room (like the cream macrame wall hanging and speckled vase) I went with the ‘Dasha’ rug in cream from Carpet Court. This is a wool blend rug with a gorgeous subtle nobbly texture. It’s nice and soft and has quite a refined contemporary look. If you’re wanting a quality rug that will last you for years and transition with any style or colour palette this is the rug for you. If you’re someone who likes to change up your styling regularly it’s important to have a few key classic pieces that will work effortlessly with almost any other colour and I feel like this rug is one of those pieces.
